What am i supposed to do?

Please, it's irritating...

    def __init__(self):
        self.slots= []

    def add_item(self, item):

class SortedInventory(Inventory):

    def add_item(self, item, **kwargs):
        super().add_item(item, **kwargs)
        self.slots.append(item)

    def sort_list(self, slots):
        self.slots.sort()

You're getting close, but:

  • the override of "add_item" doesn't need to append the item, the call to the "super" version does that
  • the instructions didn't ask for a "sort_list" method, they want the "add_item" override to also do the sorting

Part 2 asks you to add items into the "slots" list. Which looks like this:


Inventory.py

class Inventory:
    def __init__(self):
        self.slots = []

    def add_item(self, item):
        self.slots.append(item)

class SortedInventory(Inventory):
    def add_item(self, item):
        super().add_item(item)
        self.slots.append(item)

In part 3, you actually have to replace the "self.slots.append(item)" with "self.slots.sort()". Rather than adding "self.slots.sort()" to the already existing code from the previous part of the challenge. It took me a while to figure this out. Hope that helps :)
