On the challenge problem; Can anyone explain me the logic behind changing "=message" into "+=message"

This is for printing out the same name appearing on the database object.

var message = ''; var student; var search; function print(message) { var outputDiv = document.getElementById('output'); outputDiv.innerHTML += message; } function getStudentReport (student) {

var report = '<h2>Student: ' + student.name + '</h2>'; report += '<p>Track: ' + student.track + '</p>'; report += '<p>Points: ' + student.points + '</p>'; report += '<p>Achievements: ' + student.achievements + '</p>'; return report; } while(true){ search = prompt("please type in student's name or type 'quit' to exit the program").toLowerCase();

if(search.toLowerCase() === 'quit' || search === null){ break; }

for (var i = 0; i < students.length; i += 1){ student = students[i] if(search.toLowerCase() === student.name.toLowerCase()){ message = getStudentReport(student); print(message); }else{ alert('the student is not in the system'); break; } }
}

var message = '';
var student;
var search;
 function print(message) {
    var outputDiv = document.getElementById('output');
     outputDiv.innerHTML += message;
 }

function getStudentReport (student) {
   var report = '<h2>Student: ' + student.name + '</h2>';
  report += '<p>Track: ' + student.track + '</p>';
  report += '<p>Points: ' + student.points + '</p>';
  report += '<p>Achievements: ' + student.achievements + '</p>';
  return report;
} while(true){
   search = prompt("please type in student's name or type 'quit' to exit the program").toLowerCase();

   if(search.toLowerCase() === 'quit' || search === null){
     break;
   }

  for (var i = 0; i < students.length; i += 1){
      student = students[i] ;
    if(search.toLowerCase() === student.name.toLowerCase()){
         message = getStudentReport(student);
        print(message);
   }else{
       alert('the student is not in the system'); break;
   }
}
 }

If you use =message it will reset output div content by eliminating previous message content and by using +=message you're adding new message on previous content of output div.
