WordPress How to Make a Website with WordPress Customizing WordPress Themes How to Make Child Themes

One-Click to Local?

Hey,

I installed using the one-click install. I'm noticing that most everyone (and Zac) has used the local version of WordPress to create child themes, etc. I'd like to confirm that I should delete my current WP files and use the five minute install instead.

You don't need to delete your hosted WP, but instead you can just install wordpress locally, build your theme, and than when you're ready FTP your theme to your to the correct folder on your server, enable the theme in the wordpress admin, and you're good to go.
