CSS How to Make a Website Styling Web Pages and Navigation Create a Horizontal List of Links

Padding Top Bottom, Left Right.

Hi there

This is really confusing me, it's saying to add 15px for the top and bottom and 10px for left and right. Which is what I did:

nav li { display: inline-block; font-weight: 800; padding: 15px 10px; }

I now that the first value count for "top and bottom", and the second one "left and right" Not sure what else to do :)

Hi Daniel,

Your understanding of the padding values is correct.

The only issue is that the font-weight and padding values from task 4 should be in a new rule that targets the links within the nav.

Sometimes taking notes helps remembering tricky values to properties such as padding and margin. There are four values in the following order: Top, Right, Bottom, Left or 3 values: Top, Right and Left, Bottom or 2 values: Top and Bottom, Right and Left or 1 value: Top Right Bottom and Left

it is also possible to single out values for a property:

p {
    padding-top: 25px;
    padding-bottom: 25px;
    padding-right: 50px;
    padding-left: 50px;
}
