PHP Arrays and control structures track?

Would like to get anyone's view who has done the PHP track about some of the lessons towards the end of this track. Until the Todo app part i was ok with everything but i have to say and others agree that the teacher seems to be writing the code but not explaining the logic and the syntax properly. i don't know how old this stuff is but i think some of this needs to be done better, i find the constant hashing up of already written code from previous videos just adds to the confusion of learning. On the switch statement video there was no curly brace shown after the break; part so i was getting a syntax error message through no fault of my own. After reading reviews and testimonials i was convinced to join Treehouse but am starting to wish i had looked elsewhere. Is it just the PHP track or are other languages also badly explained at times?
