operator instead of the +
operator. The +
operator adds values together and creates a new value as a result. The +=
operator on the other hand is a shorthand that allows you to add a value directly to a variable, it is not valid to use it in the way you do in your code.
If you simply change +=
to +
like this:
var id = "23188xtr";
var lastName = "Smith";
var userName = id.toUpperCase() + "#" + lastName.toUpperCase();
Then your code will work.
