please help

create New variable and stores the current year Now add statement that returns this variable from the function

You need a space between return and year, also curly bracket goes at the end:

function getYear() {
  var year = new Date().getFullYear();
  return year;
}

You're close, but I see 3 issues:

  • the new code should be inside the function (between the braces)
  • you wrote "Data" instead of "Date"
  • there should be a space between "return" and "year"
