Please help, I don't understand.

I am confused and I don't know what to do.

strings.py
name = "Mytchell"
subject = "{}"
print(subject.format(name)

The format method will replace the curly braces in the string with the variables you are specifying on the parenthesis. You are missing the full string on the subject variable wich is "Treehouse loves {}" followed by the call to the format method.

it should be like this:

name = "Juan"

subject = "Treehouse loves {}".format(name)
