JavaScript AJAX Basics (retiring) AJAX and APIs Call the jQuery $.getJSON method

Proper syntax being rejected for $.getJSON() function - var jqxhr = $.getJSON(weatherAPI,objData,showWeather(data));

I've tried every incarnation of this function call, including reference from jQuery docs. Nothing works.

You need to pass the function without calling it. Calling the function executes it immediately and passes what the function returns, which is nothing in this case. You need to refer to the function so it can be called later.

 $.getJSON(weatherAPI, objData, showWeather);
