Python Basics, Loopy function cant seem to skip correctly.

I'm stuck here on this exercise, can't seem to get it to pass, any help would be great.

def loopy(items):
    # Code goes here
    for item in items:
        if item[0] = "a":
            continue    
        else:
            print(item)

Oh you're so close here! In fact, you're only one character from having it solved. So let me give a hint or two here:

  • The single equals = is an assignment operator. It is used to assign a value to something
  • The double equals == is a comparison operator. It checks to see if something is equal to something else.
