Question about HTML and Ruby

I'm curious as to why, if I'm going to learn Ruby in this track, are we starting with HTML? I feel like a lot of other online education providers just teach you the fundamentals of programming and web dev using Ruby itself. Is this to teach us the fundamental of how the web works first? Just curious :)

If you've taken the course in another track you won't have to take it in the Ruby track as that credit will already be counted across all the tracks in appears in.

But it's good to have this overlap of skills because no matter which web technology you want to use, you will need to know how to use HTML and CSS. :-)

Ruby on Rails is a development language used for web sites and applications, therefore is used in combination with HTML and CSS. Therefore they are teaching web development fundamentals within this track
