Rails Develoment track completely forgets its audience IMO

I recently started the Rails Development track after completing the Learn Ruby track. I completed everything through "installing your ruby environment" with absolutely no problems at all. I've started the Todo list application, and it's become absolutely comical (read: frustrating) how quick the pace picks up and seemingly important concepts left completely unexplained.

This part of the course does an absolutely horrible job of explaining ANYTHING at all. It just goes through a series of seemingly random steps that have no meaning. I have absolutely no idea what the instructor is doing, or why he is doing it.

Extremely disappointing, I have no idea how ANYONE gets through this track.

Any help would be appreciated. I'm pretty much hoping I've somehow skipped an important section that would explain everything Jason Seifer is doing.

https://www.railstutorial.org/book is another great one to try out if you're struggling with the Rails track.
