Random Number game

I've gone over the code several times, and it matches the instructors. Why am I getting a syntax error on line 7?

import random

secret_num = random.randint(1, 10)

while True:
  guess = int(input("Guess a number between 1 and 10: ")
-->   if guess == secret_num:  <--
        print("You got it: My number was{}".format(secret_num))
        break
    else:
        print("Sorry, that's not it!")

Many times the syntax error is caused by a run-on from the previous line.

  guess = int(input("Guess a number between 1 and 10: ")  # <-- missing closing paren
