Python Python Collections (Retired) Dictionaries Dictionary Iteration

Regarding objective 3 in Teacher Stats...

dicts = {'Jason Seifer': ['Ruby Foundations', 'Ruby on Rails Forms', 'Technology Foundations'], 'Kenneth Love': ['Python Basics', 'Python Collections']}
stats_list = []
def stats(dicts):
    for key, value in dicts.items():
      item  = "{},{}".format(key, len(value)).split(",")
      stats_list.append(item)
    return stats_list

This outputs a list within a list; where have I gone wrong?

1 Answer

Got it I needed to make the value an int.

I still don't get it right?

How do you actually do that in your code without pulling it apart into more lines?
