You aren't getting the first list item correctly.

getElementById is only searching for ID's and as such, you don't need to append the # to the Id you want to find.

You're currently searching for the css equivalent of ##first {}.

let firstListItem = document.getElementById('first');

myList.removeChild(firstListItem);

Just adding to the answer if anyone has the same issue as I did.

Note in the previous answers above that in the code " myList.removeChild(firstListItem); " there is no ' ' around firstListItem since it is a variable.
