Removing vowels from a word: Could you tell me what i'm doing wrong? Thanks!

def disemvowel(word): result = " " vowels = ["a", "e", "i", "o", "u"] for letter in word: if letter.lower() not in vowels: result += result continue return word

I spot a few issues:

  • result is initialized with a space instead of an empty string
  • the line where result is appended is not indented enough to be part of the if
  • result is appended with itself instead of with letter
  • the continue is not needed
  • the original word is returned instead of result
