Ruby help: Creating an error code for user input used twice

How can I create a code that collects user input and then shows an error when the same input is used twice? I'm creating a guessing game and want it to read error when the user types in an answer they have already used. Thanks in advance!

I'd do this:

guessed = []
while true
   print "Guess a letter: "
   guess = gets.chomp

   if guessed.include?(guess)
     puts "You already guessed that!"
   else
      guessed.push(guess)
      # do the stuff with the input
   end
end

This works because it pushes the input into the guesses array, but if the input is already in the array, it would not push it into it and say "You already guessed that!". Hope it helps! ~xela888
