You might find this useful, if you're just after the syntax saving the file as .rb will be enough or selecting Ruby from the dropdown languages in notepad++

Great article! Even though it mentions Ruby v1.9, it also works the exact same with v2.2 and I'm pretty sure any version of Ruby as long as the console recognizes the ruby command.
