Running slowly

I'm running the Android studio for the first time. I've rebooted and have a brand new laptop. The only things I've added to the laptop prior to Android Studio are NetBeans and Microsoft Visual studio Express 2010. The Android studio is running very slowly. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I agree. Its much more than an inconvenience. The editor, the compiler, the VM everything is slow and I know I have a pretty good PC. HELPPPP

Which stage is running slowly ? Compile time or in Editor ? If it is running slowly in compile time you can try to change your grade settings to Offline Work.

In Preferences -> Gradle -> check Offline work checkbox.
