Where should the # be placed?

it should be placed before the wrapper

   # denotes an id selector

and . denotes a class selector

wrapper {

       max-width:940px;
        margin:0 auto;
         }

This is my exact code:

wrapper { max-width:940 px; margin: 0;

}

just put an hash tag # before the word wrapper and there should be no space between the # and wrapper

in the 'main.css' file there should be a hashtag before wrapper, like this:

wrapper

this signifies that 'wrapper' is an 'id' that you created and tells the computer to look through your index.html file for this section, then alters it accordingly. In this case it sets the max-width and margin.

        #wrapper {
        max-width:940px;
        margin: 0 auto;
        }

this should be the code

I entered the code as follows and I'm getting an error that says: Check the margin values in your CSS.

u have forgot to use auto after the value 0 what it means is that u apply 0 margin and by placing auto the margin is adjusted automatically....

Thank you so much that worked. I think I tried that but I placed the auto before the 0. Thank you.
