Setting class to a DOM element

Hello, when I type this code: const contentDiv = document.getElementById("content"); let newParagraph = document.createElement('p'); newParagraph = document.className = "panel"; I get an error that the Task 1 is no longer passing. Thank you

Your new line invalidates what you did for task 1.

So take a look at the new line:

newParagraph = document.className = "panel";

You seem to be doing an assignment of an assignment. That's not a syntax error in itself, but it's such an unusual thing that it's often a sign of something else wrong. The "left side" assignment replaces the element you just created in task 1 with a string, which explains the error message. And the "right side" assignment is setting the class of the document itself. But I'd guess what you really want is just one assignment to set that property of your newParagraph instead.
