single-slug gets me on index

So i have page-music.php , and i have single-music.php, now, when i click on page-music.php, it displays me index.php. Why? but if i go to the single-music.php/nameOfTheMusic/ it works. if i delete the single-music, the page-music works.

What do i need to do? whats wrogn with this?

Follow the template heirarchy, and also make sure the page-music is pulling up a page in wordpress, while single-music would be pulling up a single post.
