slices.py

I tried this one in my system editor it returned the correct value but getting an error here.

slices.py 
def first_4(name):
    return name[:4]
def first_and_last_4(name):
    new_name=name(:4)+name(-4:)
    return new_name

Look carefully at the syntax of your slices in both functions.
