Source vs src

Question:

In video vs audio when I added <source src ="audio file"> I noticed that it did not work.

On video: I added

<video> <source src="video file">

For Audio, I tried that but it did not work, but this did work

<audio src="audio file">

Why is this?

Media sources can be specified with a "src" attribute (when there is only one) or with "source" child elements (which can accommodate one or more).
