JavaScript React Components Data Flow Update State Based on a Player's Id

Spread syntax?

This would be a great opportunity to use spread syntax:

const handleScoreChange = (id, delta) => {
        setPlayers(prevPlayers => prevPlayers.map(player => {
            if (player.id === id) {
                return {
                    ...player, // spread syntax to maintain the player's details
                    score: player.score + delta // update only the player's score
                }
            }

            return player;
        }));
    };

much better
