Status Bar Transparent

How can I make the status bar to be transparent. I do not want to see the blue color it has right now.

Hello,

Add this to piece of code in the onCreate method of your activity. Add this code to each activity that you want to have a transparent status bar.

You can use this on api 19+.

if (Build.VERSION.SDK_INT >= Build.VERSION_CODES.KITKAT) {
            Window w = getWindow(); 
            w.setFlags(WindowManager.LayoutParams.FLAG_LAYOUT_NO_LIMITS, WindowManager.LayoutParams.FLAG_LAYOUT_NO_LIMITS);
}
