hello, I'm in the middle of small task that select the <input> element with id linkName and store it in inputValue variable. and I wrote my code like this :
const inputValue = document.getElementById('linkName');
and it makes error and can't go to next step. I have no idea why it's wrong. please help me.

3,241 PointsThey're looking for you to return the value of the input box. The code you have is storing the element itself in the variable. To get the value of an element, you have to add .value.
Here's what they were looking for:
var inputValue = document.getElementById('linkName').value;
