Finally, add a # symbol and lastName in uppercase to the end of the userName string. The final value of userName is "23188XTR#SMITH".

The challange wants you to concatenate the 2 strings, and put a hashtag (#) between them, without modifying the original variables, and in all uppercase. To concatenate, you can use the plus (+) sign, and as the preview shows, use the .toUpperCase() to make it uppercase, so it should look like this:

var id = "23188xtr";
var lastName = "Smith";

var userName = id.toUpperCase() + "#" + lastName.toUpperCase();
