5,727 PointsStuck: Add a 4th parameter, $species, to Trout Constructor. Set the species property to that parameter w/in constructor
Unsure what I am doing wrong here and can't find any good examples to help me.
<?php
class Fish
{
public $common_name;
public $flavor;
public $record_weight;
function __construct($name, $flavor, $record,$species){
$this->common_name = $name;
$this->flavor = $flavor;
$this->record_weight = $record;
}
public function getInfo() {
$output = "The {$this->common_name} is an awesome fish. ";
$output .= "It is very {$this->flavor} when eaten. ";
$output .= "Currently the world record {$this->common_name} weighed {$this->record_weight}.";
return $output;
}
}
class Trout extends Fish {
function __construct($name,$flavor,$record,$species){
$this->common_name = $name;
$this->flavor = $flavor;
$this->record_weight = $record;
parent::__construct($name,$flavor,$record);
$this->species = $species;
}
protected $species;
}
?>

28,323 PointsYou dont need to assign existing parameters from the parent class as you are doing it in the parent::__construct
<?php
class Trout extends Fish {
public $species; // Task Three
function __construct($name, $flavor, $record, $species){ //Task Four: Add species
parent::__construct($name,$flavor,$record); // Task Two
$this->species = $species; // Task Four: Part Two
}
}
?>
Leave rest of the code unchanged. I suggest you start the challenge again.
