Ruby Ruby Basics (Retired) Ruby Methods Method Returns: Part 2

stuck at a task (methods in ruby)

In the previous challenge, we wrote a method that returned the remainder of two arguments when divided. That's cool, but it would be nicer if the method returned the remainder in a nice full sentence. Use string interpolation to return the remainder inside the sentence “The remainder of a divided by b is c.” where a is your “a” variable, b is your “b” variable, and c is the value of a % b.

method.rb
def mod(a, b)
a = 5
b = 4
a / b
c = a % b
return "the remainder of #{a} divided by #{b} is #{c}"
#write your code here
end

def mod(a, b)
  return "The remainder of #{a} divided by #{b} is #{a % b}."
end

try this

return "the remainder of #{a} divided by #{b} is #{c}."

my mistake was that I was making C a variable too, i would like to know was my logic wrong or it wasn't a suitable answer for the task.

I believe your logic is fine too, but why you a / b inside the method?

i used a/b because i wanted to divide the two first and then have the remainder and assign it to c variable
