Stuck on stupid here. How do I call a function and assign the return value to a variable?

Here's the question:

The flavor.php include file contains a function named get_flavor. That function receives no arguments, and it returns a piece of text as its return value. Call that function and assign the return value to a variable named flavor.

and here's my incorrect answer. (argh, Hulk Smash)

<?php

include ("flavor.php");

function get_flavor() {
  return $flavor;
}

echo "Randy's favorite flavor of ice cream is ____.";

?>

what am I doing wrong?

Hello Ian Hilton,

The function itself is declared in flavor.php so there is no need to do this:

function get_flavor() {
  return $flavor;
}

What they are asking you to do it to assign the actual return to a variable:

$flavor = get_flavor();

If you have any more questions, feel free to ask :)

Best, Kristian
