JavaScript JavaScript Loops, Arrays and Objects Simplify Repetitive Tasks with Loops Create a `do...while` loop

Stuck on this exercise (Javascript do while loops)

I keep getting this wrong but can't figure out why or what to do. Thanks- Michele

script.js
var secret = prompt("What is the secret password?");

do {
  if ( secret === "sesame" ) {
  document.write("You know the secret password. Welcome.");
  }
  else {
    alert("Sorry, try again.");
  }
} while ( secret !== "sesame" )

Declare the variable to hold the user input outside of the loop but the prompt needs to be inside the loop. The loop will still prompt the user for the right password when they guess the wrong one.

var secret;

do {
  secret =  prompt("What is the secret password?");
  if ( secret === "sesame" ) {
  document.write("You know the secret password. Welcome.");
  }
  else {
    alert("Sorry, try again.");
  }
} while ( secret !== "sesame" )

Thank you!

You're very close. The mistake is a simple one to fix. Just move the prompt inside the do...while loop like so:

do {
  var secret = prompt("What is the secret password?");
  if ( secret === "sesame" ) {
  document.write("You know the secret password. Welcome.");
  }
  else {
    alert("Sorry, try again.");
  }
} while ( secret !== "sesame" )

Thank you that makes sense. :)
