Subtitles wont work

Whatever I try the subtitles just won't show. I use Atom as the Editor and Chrome as the Browser. I can't find anything wrong in the code please help.

Note: In Chrome I don't get the CC (Captions) button either but in Microsoft Edge I get it but I get no Subtitles either

Hi to all,

In video you have in bottom right corner 3 dots align vertically. Press on them and you will have Caption mood on/off.

It works now... If I start the project with WebStorm from IntelliJ instead Atom and Chromes webserver. Coding is weird.....

I'm having this problem too in chrome currently - my code is identical

works in Safari - Chrome is being silly

I'm using Chrome and can see the captions with your code. It is an option under the three vertical dots.

Also using chrome. When I removed the default attribute it worked, just not by default

This will work in chrome if u host it with MAMP, it was suggested in earlier videos.

Same problem with Firefox here, apparently, as mentioned in the console, the error is that it won't accept "mixed" content, considered a threat to security, it however works fine on Safari (...I don't know why but on that one I prefer the blocking due to security...) or if you download the video and your subtitle file from VLC (for instance)...
