Supposedly correct answer not accepted

I cannot figure out why my answer is not accepted:

Type the method that we would call on the user object to check the submitted password:

user = User.find_by(email: params[:email])
if user && user.authenticate(params[:password])

They want only the method, without passing anything to it, so authenticate by itself is the correct answer.
