Task 1 is no longer passing

I'm trying to complete step 2 of the challenge, but not sure how to go about it. Here's my solution so far, but I get the error "it looks like task 1 is no longer passing".

app.js
var id = "23188xtr";
var lastName = "Smith";

var userName = id.toUpperCase();
var userName =+ "#";
var userName =+ lastName.toUpperCase();
index.html

<html>

  <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8">
  <title>JavaScript Basics</title>
</head>
<body>
<script src="app.js"></script>
</body>
</html>

Hey NoΓ«lle,

Just a general tip - if you're unexpectedly getting a "Task 1 is no longer passing" message, it's usually that you've introduced a compiler error, so none of the code can run. This makes Task 1 fail, but it really has nothing to do with task 1. Amrit called out the error - you have =+ instead of +=, which causes a syntax error, and none of the code can execute.

Just a little typo,

It's += not =+
