You set the inputValue
variable to contains it's value
, that means that is is now just a regular string variable containing whatever inputValue
's value
property contained.
So when you reference inputValue.value
on line 4 that's invalid as pure strings (which the inputValue
now is) does not contain a value
property. You can fix this issue by simply removing the .value
like this:
let inputValue = document.getElementById('linkName');
let aTag = document.querySelector('a');
inputValue = inputValue.value;
aTag.innerText = inputValue;
Then you'll be able to pass the challenge.
