1,162 PointsThe answer I got was 0.41666667ems for h3 due to it's parent h2 = 48px and h2's parent html = 16px. How am I wrong?
Create a new rule that targets the h3. Give the h3 a font-size value in ems of 20px.
/* Complete the challenge by writing CSS below */
html {
font-size: 16px;
}
header {
font-size: 1.5em;
}
.heading {
font-size: 5rem;
}
h2 {
font-size: 3em;
}
h3 {
font-size: 0.41666667em;
}

12,178 PointsHi Kirby, I found this post because I made the same mistake. I assumed the h3 element was a child of the h2 element when it's actually a child of the html root.

Treehouse Moderator 38,304 PointsHi Kirby Adcock. 1px represents 0.0625em based on the default font-size of 16 pixels. So 20px * .0625 = 1.25em. Here is a handy calculator.

4,131 PointsIve been banging my head against the wall for the better half of an hour and did not realize this until I read your comment. I still dont totally understand how it isnt considered a child oh h2 since its a list item, within a list nested within h2. There must be a fundamental thats skipping my mind right now. Thank very much any how.

12,178 Points@David Lima h3 is not a child of h2 because it's not within <h2>...</h2>. In this case h2 and ul are siblings and h3 is a descendant of ul not h2.
I hope this explanation helps.
