HTML How to Make a Website Styling Web Pages and Navigation Style the Portfolio

The background colour of my footer is for some reason being applied to the whole portfolio section. Can anyone see why?

I've followed the code exactly, but the footer section is stretching up from the bottom all the way to the nav bar. I'm very confused!

I've managed to rectify this myself now. Apologies for not posting code in the first place, this is my first post for help and I wasn't sure whether or not people could see a link to the project or anything.
