30,501 PointsThe num_teachers function should return an integer for how many teachers are in the dict. Any advice please!?
def num_teachers(a):
counter = 0
for key in len(a.keys()):
counter += 1
return counter
# The dictionary will look something like:
# {'Andrew Chalkley': ['jQuery Basics', 'Node.js Basics'],
# 'Kenneth Love': ['Python Basics', 'Python Collections']}
#
# Each key will be a Teacher and the value will be a list of courses.
#
# Your code goes below here.
def num_teachers(a):
counter = 0
for key in len(a.keys()):
counter += 1
return counter

of the teachers.keys()
, just use the teachers.keys()
directly.
As further improvements, the .keys()
is assumed if omitted in a container context like if
statements.
Also, the form
counter = 0
for x in container:
counter +=1
# can be replaced simply by
counter = len(container)
