also tried

both responded with incorrect.

Treehouse TeacherHi there! When creating a variable that (as of yet) will hold no value you may not include the equals sign. This indicates to JavaScript to expect a value on the right side of the equals as the equals is the assignment operator.
To assign a variable named myVar with no value, I would use:
var myVar;
