HTML How to Make a Website Styling Web Pages and Navigation Make a CSS Image Gallery

The size of the images don't shrink as we make the browser smaller and the other gallery list options also not

img { max-width: 100%; } if it shrinks the width shrinks as well.

gallery {

margin: 0;
padding: 0;
list-style: none;

}

gallery li {

float: left; 
width: 45%; 
margin: 2.5%; 
background-color:#f5f5f5;
color: #bdc3c7;

}

I've put this in my workspace as well as <ul id="gallery"> but it isnt working :(

What can be the problem?

Did you use id selector for gallery? (I mean in .css #gallery { ...})
