Thinking of taking the Android Developer Tech Degree.. Will I have to have a basic understanding of HTML, CSS, Java 1st?

I'm just barely starting out with the basic classes of HTML and slowly moving into CSS and Java soon... are there other programming languages I'll need to learn first before I even begin looking into the Android Developer Tech Degree?

Hmm... I don't know anything about Android (although I have android points XD) but I recommend learning Java first.

Thanks xela88. Anyone else have any input? Not sure where to start but I think I'll continue my HTML & CSS courses then definitely move onto Java

You only need to know web if you want to do web based stuff with android apps. If not then you only need to know the java basics to quickly grasp the android syntax and such.

I think youre on the right track doing the webpage stuff first including html, css, javascript. Gives you the basics of programming that you also use in other languages. Ive had Java a long time ago & its complex so knowing the basics up front will make it easier to learn. Im hoping to eventually do android/ios too.

Only need to know web? As in... sorry I'm not sure what that includes (beginer here). I know I have a long way to go. So Java mainly is for... wroting the code for Android?

Yes sorry so like cynthia said, the webpage stuff will help such as html, css & javascript when you want to incorporate all these skills and put an android app on a web application. But i would say carry on with your web track if you want. Or skip to java, entirely up to you.

Great thanks for the input. Very helpful. I'll continue learning the basics first then move on to Java.
