Python Python Collections (2016, retired 2019) Lists Disemvowel

This code seems to be working in workspaces but not here. what's wrong

help me out here

def disemvowel(word):
    vowels = ["a", "e", "i", "o", "u", "A", "E", "I", "O", "U"]
    word_list = list(word)
    for vowel in vowels:
        if vowel in word_list:
            word_list.remove(vowel)

    word = ''.join(word_list)
    return word

Hey Ian,

try checking if the letter in word_list is in vowels, instead of the other way around. Something like this:

def disemvowel(word):
    vowels = ["a", "e", "i", "o", "u", "A", "E", "I", "O", "U"]
    word_list = list(word)
    for letter in word:
        if letter in vowels:
            word_list.remove(letter)

    word = ''.join(word_list)
    return word
