This is my code but my answer isn't passing. What am I doing wrong?

var money = 9; var today = 'Friday'

if ( money >= 100 || today === 'Friday' ) { alert("Time to go to the theater");
} else if ( money >= 50 || today === 'Friday' ) { alert("Time for a movie and dinner");
} else if ( money > 10 || today === 'Friday' ) { alert("Time for a movie");
} else if (money =< 10 || today === "Friday") { alert("It's Friday, but I don't have enough money to go out"); }

else if ( today !== 'Friday' ) { alert("It's Friday, but I don't have enough money to go out");
} else { alert("This isn't Friday. I need to stay home."); }

script.js
var money = 9;
var today = 'Friday'

if ( money >= 100 || today === 'Friday' ) {
  alert("Time to go to the theater");
}
else if ( money >= 50 || today === 'Friday' ) {
  alert("Time for a movie and dinner");
} else if ( money > 10 || today === 'Friday' ) {
  alert("Time for a movie");
}
else if (money =< 10 || today === "Friday") {
  alert("It's Friday, but I don't have enough money to go out");
}

else if ( today !== 'Friday' ) {
  alert("It's Friday, but I don't have enough money to go out");
} else {
  alert("This isn't Friday. I need to stay home.");

Zalman;

Task:

Fix this script so that it correctly tests the money and today variables and prints out the proper alert message: "It's Friday, but I don't have enough money to go out"

Concepts

Right now each of the conditional statements are saying if money is a certain value or if today is equal to Friday. Since the code defines today as being Friday, the or condition is met. So we need to change all of the or conditions to and conditions, i.e if I have more than $100 and today is Friday, I get to go out.

The other catch is in the last else if condition. It is currently set to check the condition of if today is not Friday. We don't want that either. We want that code to print if we don't have money and today is Friday.

Remember from the video the double pipes, ||, signifies an or condition. A double ampersand, &&, signifies an and condition. And the !== operator is read as not equal to.

I hope it helps and happy coding,

Ken

Hi Zalman,

Please try the below code:

var money = 9;
var today = 'Friday'

if ( money >= 100 && today === 'Friday' ) {
  alert("Time to go to the theater");
} else if ( money >= 50 && today === 'Friday' ) {
  alert("Time for a movie and dinner");
} else if ( money > 10 && today === 'Friday' ) {
  alert("Time for a movie");
} else if ( today === 'Friday' ) {
  alert("It's Friday, but I don't have enough money to go out");
} else {
  alert("This isn't Friday. I need to stay home.");
}
