Hi Kyle,

Your nav element looks to be inside your link when it should appear after it.

So:

      <a href="index.html">
        <nav>
          <ul>
            <li>Portfolio</li>
            <li>About</li>
            <li>Contact</li>
          </ul>
        </nav>
        <h1>Nick Pettit</h1>
        <h2>Designer</h2>
      </a>

would become:

      <a href="index.html">
        <h1>Nick Pettit</h1>
        <h2>Designer</h2>
      </a>
      <nav>
      <ul>
        <li>Portfolio</li>
        <li>About</li>
        <li>Contact</li>
        </ul>
      </nav>

Hope that helps

Kyle,

I think that you need to put your nav outside of the anchor tags a. At the moment it is embedded in your link.

<a href="index.html"></a>
<nav>
  <ul>
     <li></li>
     <li></li>
  </ul>
</nav>
