This isn't working, and keeps resulting in a syntax/parse error:

This is my code, and it's not working!

function max(6,12) { if(6<12) { return 12;} else { return 6;} }

function max(6,12) {
if(6<12) {
return 12;}
  else {
    return 6;}
}

You need to give the parameters names:

function max(firstNumber, secondNumber) {
  if (firstNumber > secondNumber) {
    return fistNumber;
  }
  return secondNumber;
}

When you call the function you could pass through the values of 6 and 12 like so:

max(6, 12); // Returns 12

I spent nearly two days trying to figure this out. Now I get it. Thanks very much for your help. I completed the challenge!
