iOS Object-Oriented Swift Complex Data Structures Custom Initializers

This looks exactly how it asked. What is happening that I can't understand?

How to fix?

structs.swift
struct RGBColor {
  let red: Double
  let green: Double
  let blue: Double
  let alpha: Double

  let description: String

  // Add your code below
init(red: 86.0, green: 191.0, blue: 131.0, alpha: 1.0, description: "red: 86.0, green: 191.0, blue: 131.0, alpha: 1.0")
}

Hi AJ,

The Challenge wanted you to create an initializer that set the 4 color properties, and you did that — correctly. But, the Challenge also wanted you to set the description property to a String that combines all the previously-set color properties. It gave you an example of how that String is supposed to look: "red: 86.0, green: 191.0, blue: 131.0, alpha: 1.0." You could have done this a number of ways but one way — that passes the Challenge — is to do the following inside of your initializer, below where you set the 4 color properties:

self.description = "red: \(red), green: \(green), blue: \(blue), alpha: \(alpha)"

I think your issue here is that you are trying to assigning values to your parameters in an init method.

you need to just initialize the variables like this:

struct RGBColor {
    let red: Double
    let green: Double
    let blue: Double
    let alpha: Double

    let description: String

    // Add your code below
    init(red: Double, green: Double, blue: Double, alpha: Double, description: String) {

        self.red = red
        self.green = green
        self.blue = blue
        self.alpha = alpha
        self.description = description
}

...then assign the values during the creation of an instance.

Hope this helps
