Trying to put 3 strings together having trouble

Hi I've been trying to put all these strings together in uppercase? but it's not working how can I attach the username then a hashtag and then lastname to the username string?

Basically, you made mistake on your script. it should be

var id = "23188xtr";

var lastName = "Smith";
var userName = (id.toUpperCase() + "#" + lastName.toUpperCase());

// to see in console.
console.log(userName);

Yes! Thank You. I had the answer right several times but the quiz didn't like my code. EX; "Bummer! The userName variable is "23188XTR" not "23188XTR#SMITH". Go Figure?

Cletus Groner, it says clearly : "23188XTR" not "23188XTR#SMITH". make sure you got the right value.

"23188XTR#SMITH" is the answer to the question.
