4,620 Pointstrying to return a boolean value in the "contains?" method
I am not sure why it says "contains?" method is not returning a boolean value in the following I wrote:
def contains?(name) if todo_items.include?(name) == true return true else return false end end
class TodoList
attr_reader :name, :todo_items
def initialize(name)
@name = name
@todo_items = []
end
def add_item(name)
todo_items.push(TodoItem.new(name))
end
def contains?(name)
if todo_items.include?(name) == true
return true
else
return false
end
end
def find_index(name)
index = 0
found = false
todo_items.each do |item|
found = true if item.name == name
break if found
index += 1
end
if found
return index
else
return nil
end
end
end

15,419 PointsYou've almost got it! You just need to make sure that you are iterating over each of the items inside of todo_items
.
Once you're doing that, you can compare the name
value of the item with the name
argument that is passed to the .contains?
method.
