8,185 PointsUnable to figure out to how to use this logical operator correctly.
I can't figure out how to write what it's asking me correctly. I think I'm close, but seems I have a syntax error.
def check_speed(car_speed)
if (check_speed >= 40) && (check_speed <= 50)
return "safe"
else
return "unsafe"
end

16,593 PointsThe error says " syntax error, unexpected end-of-input, expecting keyword_end". Looking at the code, it looks like your if statement is missing an end. You are also using check_speed in your if when you need to use car_speed.
def check_speed(car_speed)
if (car_speed >= 40) && (car_speed <= 50)
return "safe"
else
return "unsafe"
end
end

8,185 PointsThank you Luke! I actually figured it out right before checking this answer. I originally used car_speed, didn't understand the syntax error so I thought I'd try with the check_speed. However, the problem was with the end statement like you pointed out. Thank you again!

29,084 PointsHello Luke, do we use 2 "ends" at the bottom?

16,593 PointsThomas Beaudry yes, you would use two because the def needs to have an end, and the if statement would need one as well.

29,084 PointsHi Luke, thank you for sharing this with me, I am a newbie on Ruby, and I've never run into this before in other languages, great job! :)
